17th February - Time

I understand there is much debate about time. Specifically, daylight savings time (DST).

Being born in Mackay, I heard much debate about why Queensland should not adopt daylight savings. And to me it makes sense. Up there (and further North Queensland) it is basically Summer all year round. Why add an extra hour of sunlight exposure when we are all trying to escape the heat of it as it is? 

However, heading to South East Queensland (SEQ) to live in Gympie and now Brisbane, it's become more apparent to me why some Queenslanders want to switch to DST. 

Also, just as an aside, how the heck can Adelaide be 30 minutes ahead of us when the sun has to travel almost half the country from the East coast to reach it?
